The safety and well-being of minors receive heightened attention throughout our programs.
Parental and Guardian Consent
Youth participants must have the required permission of a parent or legal guardian before participating in organized Wisdom Cup activities.
Consent requirements may include participation authorization, emergency contact information, medical acknowledgments, transportation arrangements, and media permissions.

Youth activities must operate under appropriate supervision by authorized adults.
Coaches, volunteers, and other adults must maintain professional boundaries and avoid situations that could expose minors to unnecessary risks.

Individuals serving in roles that involve direct access to minors must satisfy applicable background screening, eligibility, and training requirements before beginning those responsibilities.
Screening requirements may vary by territory and role.

In an emergency, authorized event personnel may contact emergency services and take reasonable actions consistent with applicable law, approved procedures, and available consent documentation.

Teams must not conduct unsafe activities or represent an unapproved project as an official Wisdom Cup initiative.
Community impact achievements must never come at the expense of participant or beneficiary safety.
10. Reporting Abuse, Misconduct, or Safety Concerns
We encourage participants, parents, volunteers, and community members to report concerns involving safety, abuse, harassment, exploitation, or serious misconduct.
Reports may concern incidents occurring during competitions, training, community projects, online communications, or other Wisdom Cup-related activities.
How to Report a Concern
Use the official Wisdom Cup Contact Form and select Participant Safety or Safeguarding Concern.
Please provide as much relevant information as you safely can, including the nature of the concern, when it occurred, and any immediate safety risks.
Do not submit unnecessary sensitive information or detailed abuse evidence through an ordinary contact form. A designated safeguarding reporting channel will be provided for confidential case handling.
Immediate Danger
If someone is in immediate danger or requires urgent medical assistance, contact local emergency services immediately.
In the United States, call 911.
In Jamaica, police emergencies may be reported through 119, and ambulance emergencies through 110.
Suspected child abuse or exploitation should also be reported to the appropriate child protection or law enforcement authorities in accordance with local requirements.
An internal Wisdom Cup report does not replace a legally required report to public authorities.
11. Confidentiality and Protection Against Retaliation
Reports will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible.
Information may be shared with authorized personnel, relevant authorities, or other parties when necessary to protect individuals, investigate concerns, or comply with law.
Absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, participates in an investigation, or seeks assistance is prohibited.
12. Responding to Reported Concerns
WisdomPhilanthropy will seek to respond to participant protection concerns through appropriate procedures.
Depending on the circumstances, actions may include:
- Assessing immediate safety risks.
- Separating individuals where necessary.
- Preserving relevant information.
- Referring matters to appropriate authorities.
- Restricting access to participants or events.
- Conducting an appropriate internal review.
- Taking disciplinary or corrective action.
- Documenting decisions and follow-up measures.
Internal reviews must not interfere with law enforcement or child protection investigations.
Individuals involved in decisions must disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
13. Territory-Specific Safeguarding Requirements
United States
Wisdom Cup USA activities must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
For Florida competitions, this includes assessing and implementing relevant requirements governing youth athletics, background screening, concussion safety, parental consent, and the reporting of suspected child abuse.
Additional requirements may apply when the program expands into other states.
Jamaica
Wisdom Cup Jamaica will operate under applicable Jamaican child protection, sporting, privacy, and public safety requirements when activities commence.
Appropriate local safeguarding arrangements, screening procedures, emergency protocols, and reporting channels must be established before youth participation begins.
Future Territories
Before launching activities in another country or region, WisdomPhilanthropy will review applicable participant protection laws and establish appropriate local safeguarding procedures.
No territory may bypass mandatory participant safety requirements.
14. Policy Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Formal warnings.
- Required corrective action or training.
- Temporary suspension.
- Removal from an event or assigned role.
- Team disciplinary action.
- Disqualification from competitions.
- Restrictions on future participation.
- Referral to relevant authorities.
Actions will be determined according to the nature of the concern, applicable law, participant safety, and appropriate procedural safeguards.
15. Continuous Improvement
Participant protection is an ongoing responsibility.
WisdomPhilanthropy will seek to review safeguarding practices, incident procedures, volunteer requirements, and event safety measures as The Wisdom Cup develops.
Policies may be updated to reflect legal requirements, operational experience, and recognized safeguarding practices.
